A popular brand of extended stay hotels and Holiday Homes in United States is the Residence Inn Apartments. The phenomenon is of a recent origin. A chain of residence inns were first started in Wichita, Kansas in the year 1977 by Jack DeBoer. Subsequently, the chain was taken over by the Marriott International during the year 1987. Today there are over 450 such Residence Inn Apartment hotels in North America. Apart from the United States, these types of vacation rentals are also quite popular in Canada and Mexico.
Like most of such holiday lets, the keyword for such apartments is “a home away from home”. But the Residence Inn apartments have some unique features that make them stand out among the apartments that you may choose as your holiday abode or for residential purposes.
Unlike the other Vacation Apartments these apartments have a main building, a common dining space where meals are served, and a swimming pool that is used by all tenants. Many of them also provide some additional buildings similar to the main building. A complimentary breakfast is offered everyday to its tenants. Sometimes during the week end evening, a complimentary dinner or snacks is also offered. These apartments are economic and affordable for the common people. The range is from lower upscale to upper moderate scale. So the inns are quite popular among the average class tourists and travelers. Thus it has now become one of the quickest growing segments in apartment and hotel business.
