I was given a task to help a school with their server problem. I am a computer technician and I know I can fix this problem. I was wrong, it’s complicated than I expected. I told the Dean that the server is jammed and it needs to be replaced. She told me that the server has been around for many years and it’s been acting up for the last few weeks. I suggested that the school buys used IBM servers. I won’t go with a hefty price tag and the performance is surely undeniably fast. She agreed and so I went to look for one.

I ask my boss for an online store that sells IBM servers. He e-mailed me the link and I started with the project. I check all their network storage components and finally choose one. After waiting for the delivery, I perfectly installed everything. The school was very happy with their network system now. The transactions are fast and easy. The Dean was very delighted and so as the students. It makes me happy when I help people with their problems.

There are times when things get out of control and you are left with no other alternatives, but to make some sacrifices on your part. That is the lesson that I learned from my mom, when she sold her wedding ring. She and my dad got a divorce and she took it upon herself to take care of me. I know that it was hard for her to sell wedding ring and I was hoping that they can mend their relationship.

She said that it’s too late for that and she promised to take good care of me in place of my dad. I was still too young back then, to understand the affairs of married couple and I didn’t push the subject. My mom only sells diamonds when things get rough and thanks to that, we managed to live as comfortably as we can with just the two of us. She was the best mom in the world to me and when I finally found a good job, I made sure that she was able to live the comfortable life that she rightfully deserves.

A few days ago, my mom took me with her to the Clearwater flooring store and she asked me to pick some carpets for our house. I told her that I’m not too good in choosing these kinds of things and insisted that she should be the one to choose. I thought that she’ll get mad at me, but she didn’t.

In fact, she thanked me for being honest and busied herself in finding carpets that will be suitable for our house. The Clearwater carpet store has a lot of carpets in their inventory and my mom had a hard time in choosing the carpets that she wanted. We were in the store for an hour at most and went straight home afterwards. The carpets that she chose have different designs and you can tell that they were of high quality. I was right in insisting that she pick the carpets herself and I know that she had a good time in deciding which ones she’s going to buy. When my dad came home from work, he immediately saw the carpets and complimented my mom for having good taste. That compliment brought an immediate smile to her lips.
