Months before moving to Florida, I was very eager to finally enjoy the great weather of the sunshine state. However, within weeks I discovered how hot it can be especially in my barren yard. However the doctors gave us hope by telling us that mom’s case was still curable because we were able to detect it while it is still in its initial stages.  They told us that if we had the money, we could go through the steps and have her in therapy right away.  The bad news was that we did not have the money required for her treatments.  When we got home, my mom went to her room straight away and came out with an old box that we have not seen before. She gave it to me and told me to dispose of it so that we could raise funds for her medication.  She told us that it was time to sell old gold coins and jewelry since she did not use it anymore.

I sold them some and was surprised by the amount that was written on the check when it came. I was more than what we expected which gave us the hope that we needed.
