Saved by her Old Jewelry
It’s been a month since my sister’s so-called wedding. Oh well, there was no wedding really. The guy left her standing on the altar alone when his lover showed up on the middle of the ceremony. And to add more damage to the situation, the lover was a guy too. She has been with him for 4 years and she never, not once saw any indications that he was gay. Poor her!
But going back; that day after one month, I saw her glowing and very happy. She told me to dress up and we’d go to the city to shop and be pretty - those were her words. We did, actually. She bought new clothes, new shoes, designer bags and we paid extra in the salon because we went in without an appointment and she was fine with it. I asked her why all the spending splurge? She said that she had to sell old jewelry so that she can find a new love.
She must have noticed that I had a puzzled look on my face so she continued on. She told me that she was selling old jewelry, jewelry given to her by her old boyfriend. She said that it was her fresh start. Well, good for her, right? I just smiled and hugged her.
